Thank You!

06-23-2019Weekly ReflectionFr. Rafael L. Bercasio

To the beloved parishioners of Corpus Christi Parish,

On behalf of my parishioners of the Mission Sagrada Corazon, I would like to convey my most sincere gratitude to you.

I have been out of the parish for almost 5 years now, yet it feels like yesterday and that you have never forgotten me. Your generous support for my appeal for the building of the Mission Church of Sagrada Corazon is a testimony of how you still remember me in spite that I am long gone. Your remembrance will leave a lasting impression on my priestly life as I continue to serve Him.

I have never been so overwhelmed in my priestly ministry of 26 years (not even in Ireland, er, I mean, in the Philippines) than by the support you have showered in my recent appeal to help me in my project. Your generosity is immeasurable and beyond my expectation. As I recorded the checks, it humbled me to see names that I never knew personally during my almost seven years as Associate Pastor of Corpus Christi. I might have known your faces and infrequently, your names, yet your generous support was without regard for our lack of a personal relationship. Your generosity is indeed the epitome of love of neighbor, one of God’s great commandments.

As an act of thanksgiving to God who showered me with so much love, compassion, patience and friends, I will continue to offer novena masses for your intentions. Rest assured my obligation to pray for you will never cease as long as I am a priest of God.

Last but not least, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Fr Chad King for allowing me to conduct this appeal in behalf of my Mission. Your fraternal concern for your brother priest who is most in need of support is highly appreciated. I owe you one, Father Chad.

As of now, your donations amount to $87,196.59, but I am still counting because checks are still coming through mail.

May God continue to bless us all and keep us in His Sacred Heart. Vivat Jesus!!!

Servus Servorum Dei,
Fr Rafael L. Bercasio
