Lord, Teach Me to Pray
“Lord, Teach Me To Pray” (LTMTP) is a prayer series rooted in Ignatian spirituality and designed to help men and women learn how to pray.
Part I, Praying Christian Virtues (12 weeks)
Introduces Ignatian prayer and spirituality in the way that St. Ignatius himself introduced people; i.e., by structuring their initial prayer experience around the Christian Virtues. "Praying the Christian Virtues" helps deepen one’s prayer life and discover what to do for dryness and obstacles in prayer. It also introduces the different methods of Ignatian prayer, meditation, contemplation and Consciousness Examen.
Part I is conducted in a small group experience with two trained facilitators. Each group will meet for one to two hours once a week for prayer, faith sharing and introduction to the methods of Ignatian prayer. Everyone will receive Scriptures on the virtues to use daily at home for 15 minutes of private prayer.
