If you page through Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians, you will see that he addresses many of the same topics that appear in the news headlines today: scandals, promiscuity, debates and controversies, and issues related to prosperity versus poverty. Clearly, the struggles faced by the early Christians are in many ways similar to our own. Paul’s messages to the Corinthians about divisions, immorality, persecution, and other trials offer much-needed wisdom for our own times.
First Corinthians: The Church and the Christian Community explores the key elements of the gospel message that Paul introduced to a new and growing Church. Presenter Tim Gray examines Paul’s advice for living an authentic Christian life in a pagan culture as well as his teachings about the nature of grace, the Church as the body of Christ, and the most powerful gift of all—the Eucharist.
We read scripture, discuss in small groups, watch engaging DVDs, and socialize with women of all ages. Being a part of this group can be a life-changing experience in growing closer to our Lord!

History of Coffee Break
More than 20 years ago, our parishioner, Loraine Pellegrino, asked our pastor for approval to begin a Bible study series at Corpus Christi. She coordinated with Denise Halloran, (our former director of children's faith formation) to gather the women of the parish and take a "Coffee Break" to study scripture!
This women's scripture study program meets weekly on Wednesday mornings for a number of sessions depending on the length of the study. New studies usually begin each September and January and there is a small fee for materials.
The format includes personal study along with the weekly small group meetings to share your reflections. Childcare typically provided, please inquire upon pre-registration.
